Large and heavy shipments

The same free US address works for the things that are hard to bring home in a suitcase:

• Appliances such as fridges, washing machines and air conditioners.
• Car parts, tires and accessories.

Each package ships and is billed on its own, so you can collect each one as soon as it is ready.

What freight costs

A 40 lb box costs $39.60 plus the $20 XL parcel fee: $59.60 in freight. Bulky, light boxes are charged on dimensional weight (length × width × height ÷ 139) when it is greater than the actual weight, so a 24 × 18 × 18 inch box is charged as about 56 lb. Sellers who won't ship

Customs on big purchases

We clear customs from the invoice you upload, with no brokerage fee and no air cargo fee. Duty depends on what you bought, and some large goods also carry an environmental levy, such as $15 on a fridge or washing machine. Top-rated energy-efficient fridges, freezers, air conditioners and water heaters can come in duty free with a National Emissions Registry certificate, so apply before you ship. How long it takes

Once your shipment arrives at your US address, it is typically ready in Nassau within 5 business days, and in the Family Islands within 6 to 8 business days, depending on mailboat schedules. Upload your invoice as soon as you order so customs never holds it up.

Freight forwarder or the store's own international shipping?

Some stores, Amazon included, offer to ship straight to The Bahamas. Here is how that compares with shipping to your Mr. Ship It address:
