Freight Rates

Pricing questions
How is freight calculated?
By weight: a flat $8.99 for packages up to 5 lb, $1.89 per pound from 5.01 to 29.99 lb, and $0.99 per pound plus a $20 XL parcel fee at 30 lb and over. For bulky boxes we use dimensional weight (length x width x height divided by 139) if it is greater than the actual weight.
What is the processing fee?
$10 or 1% of the invoice value, whichever is greater. It covers customs entry preparation for each package.
How are duty and VAT worked out?
Bahamas Customs sets the duty rate by item type. Customs VAT is 10% of the item value plus landed freight, duty, the environmental levy and the customs processing fee. Mr. Ship It's own services, such as freight and package protection, carry 10% VAT separately.
Is there a charge for large or heavy packages?
Packages of 30 lb and over carry a $20 XL parcel fee on top of the per-pound rate. Hazardous materials are $35 and shipments valued over $2,500 need a $30 S.E.D. filing.
How long can a package be stored?
The first 5 days at your pickup location are free; after that storage is $3.00 per day, so collect promptly or pay online so it is ready when you arrive.
